I like the sound of this new Open Content project to create accessible talking book recordings. Their inspiration came from a group that downloaded Lessig's new book Free Culture and recorded each chapter with a different voice. Once again the Creative Commons inspires creativity and shows what a few committed and talented people can do when huge corporations don't hide everything behind their logo wall. A few spins I would like to see on this one include:
- getting kids to read from some classics (Alice and the like)
- family and institution "read and record days"
- Open Audiobook readathons to create new audio books and also raise money for school libraries
You get the idea...check it out and participate!
