Cory Doctorow Hits Academe With a Splash

The funniest bit about this post by Doctorow on a recent profile in the Chronicle of Higher Education is the fact that the piece was initially behind a fee wall. Just after the article was posted on SIVACRACY.NET a non-fee based version of the article was posted on the Chronicle site - they obviously didn't want their hit stats to take a hit :-) I wonder of the editors of the Chronicle realize how reflective of the dysfunctional scholarly publishing world their site is?
