Our Project Planning Document
Yea right - like how many people who know me think we actually have a planning document? Here is the e-mail that went out on May 24th to get things rolling:
Hi all - here is Grant and my first kick at creating a list of high-level tasks for the Evergreen migration and people who we are suggesting move them forward. The goal here is to identify 1 staff member who will focus on one or more issues and communicate with Grant/Equinox on requirements/issues/etc. The 1st name is the one we are suggesting take the lead and work with other staff (some listed here, but will undoubtedly include others) to make sure these are covered. In other words, that person does not need to do it all, but they need to make sure we are on track and any flags are raised. In two cases I have 2 names 1st as a reflection of staff that are away for part of the migration. Let me know if this is OK, if we've missed something or if you think there should be some changes. I will assume this is good to go by the end of the day Monday if I don't hear otherwise. I will then transfer this to a Wiki page so we can keep the notes up-to-date and a running tally of where things are. This assumes that we will have our production server up and running for Friday June 6 so that we have basic OPAC, cataloguing and circulation functions up and running. Some of the "non-critical" elements will receive focus after this. I'll let you know when the BBQ and celebration will be :-) MarkCataloging/OPAC
